Téléplaisance is a Free Access TV. The broadcasting schedule is made of the voice, the sight, the initiative, the testimonials, and the imaginary of any groups or any single person with the wish to share its universe. The people taking part in Téléplaisance are responsible for the audiovisual matters that they are broadcasting. They are acting according to the Chart of Téléplaisance.

"Waves are like the air...they belong to everyone".

What was out of reach for too long is now available, thanks to Free Access Principle. For years, people of this country have been paying the TV tax, general taxes financed the huge technical mechanism of TV relays, satellites, "plan cable" etc. And no channels, no hertzian or wave spaces have been provided to them, no dedicated places where they can act when they want and like they want.

Free Access gives the access to the inaccessible. Mysterious and invisible hertzian waves, that bring the image and the sound, are not the forced properties of the big commercials trusts only.

In response to this public illegality of the hertzian area, owned by some favoured people, Téléplaisance logically started to broadcast unlawfully over Plaisance Street, then in the flats of Tolbiac Street...Until the law would be revisited and would allow the associations to legally broadcast.

In other countries, Free Access principle has been achieved for years, it works and it hires people! All over Germany, Holland, USA-or else where-communities, associations or other groups are proposing their universe to anybody who wants to discover it.

Téléplaisance is a manual television. Our association is dealing with the channel like an open space available to anyone who wants to take part in it. We welcome every new discovery because our curiosity is never satisfied. This idea of sharing takes a real importance in the meaning of our action. Nevertheless, we don’t worry about the profitability of this hertzian space. It does exist and the waves are wides.

Téléplaisance started with low-cost means- a camescope, a transmitter and the antenna on the roof. The reports were edited as they were filmed. The shows were realized live from the flat. Lots of improvisations and do-it-yourself techniques led us to filming-editing,chrono-editing, scenery switch by transparency, surprizing point of views etc.

Then, some instruments have been lend or given to us-but we still keep this principle of instantaneous by giving a much important role to the live mix of several audiovisual sources. We tend to keep the coolness of the early times...The show must go on.

From the Free Access principle of Téléplaisance also came out events like "Faîtes de la lumière". The goal of this event is to share memories or parts of life with your neighbors, by the time of a night, broadcasting your flicks on the city walls. Check out : http://www.faitesdelalumiere.net

The concept of Téléplaisance and of other broadcasting experiences is to open wide the possibilities, in order to provide anybody to share its imaginary and contribute to the beauty of the world.

Nowadays, Téléplaisance pursues its experience broadcasting on the internet and still with this leitmotiv in mind : " Broadcast what you like, like what you broadcast ".
