The roof of the former place where Téléplaisance was, was easy to reach.Indeed it was such a pleasure to step and install the antenna.The harder came when we started to go from door to door and to warn the people about the brand new TV and the creation of the local TV.
Moreover, the neighborhood of Plaisance Street was fulfilled of interesting people glad to stop by in the studio and ready to talk about everything, to sing, to debate, to show films or a puppet show as well.In fact, the shows never ended.
As the transmitter was broadcasting over 100 to 200 meters, as there was a buzz about the TV and as it was quite easy to settle the TV set, it became easy for everyone to come over and start to be a part of this adventure.This is the story of how Téléplaisance was born, with some neighbors, some friends, some unknow people met in the subway.Shows were broadcasted and produced live from the appartment.Lots of improvisations and do-it-yourself techniques led us to filming-editing, chrono-editing, scenery switch by transparency, surprizing point of views etc.
Then, some instruments were lend or given to us-but we still keep this principle of instantaneous by giving a much important role to the live mix of several audiovisual sources. We tend to keep the coolness of the early times...The show must go on.
About the place? The local used to record the shows is changeable, it depends on where lives the one or the other. Téléplaisance was a studio, toilets, a rooftop, a cellar, a stage on a mobile truck.
Nothing but the time to do it well avoid a show to be produced.Nevertheless, we are still looking for some audiovisual equipments, anything they could be, we mean diapositive spotlights, video spotlights, super 8 films...So emailus before you get rid of them!
